Histopathology /

Brightfield Medical Diagnostics

Our histopathological services encompass surgical pathology, immunohistochemistry, cytopathology and autopsy pathology. We analyze tissue samples following processing to arrive at a definitive diagnosis which will assist in patients management and prognostication. Ancillary tests such as histochemistry, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence are done if necessary to reach a definitive diagnosis.

Surgical Pathology:

Specimens/samples that are removed at surgery are assessed macroscopically and representative sections are taken for processing before microscopic evaluation. Our diagnoses answer questions as to the nature of the lesions as well as a host of other important information necessary for patients' management. Is it inflammatory? Is it a benign or malignant tumour? If malignant (cancerous), are the tumour margins free? Biological markers that are targets of molecularly directed therapy are applied as necessary.
